About Claire

Hello! I’m a passionate and experienced teacher with 14 years of teaching experience across the world. Having lived and worked in several countries, including South Africa, the UK, Hong Kong, China, South Korea and the UAE, I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to teach students from a wide range of backgrounds and educational systems.

I’m currently a part-time teacher at an award-winning independent primary school in London. I spend my mornings teaching in the classroom and my afternoons working online with students in Hong Kong and the UAE. I absolutely love what I do and, most importantly, I love helping students grow in confidence, develop a genuine enjoyment of learning and achieve things they perhaps didn’t think they were capable of!

My teaching style is friendly, encouraging and personalised. I believe that every student learns differently, so I take the time to get to know each child, understand their strengths and identify the areas where they need a little extra support. I want my lessons to be engaging, challenging and enjoyable, while making sure that students are making consistent progress.

My Teaching Experience & Expertise:

Having worked extensively within international education, I have experience teaching the British National Curriculum (UK), Cambridge and International Baccalaureate (IB) curricula. This allows me to adapt my lessons to suit different educational systems, school expectations and individual learning needs. My online lessons are interactive and carefully planned around each student’s individual needs. I use digital whiteboards, screen-sharing and collaborative tools to make learning visual, engaging and accessible. I also provide regular feedback and monthly progress reports so that parents can see how their child is developing and where we are focusing our attention.

My Approach to Maths Tuition:

I believe that the best learning happens when a student feels empowered, safe, and truly engaged. My primary goal is to foster a positive, happy relationship with every student. I create a supportive environment where your child feels comfortable to grow, explore challenging concepts, and—most importantly—feel safe to make mistakes. Mistakes are an essential part of the learning journey, and I guide students through them with patience and encouragement to build lasting confidence.

To ensure every lesson is dynamic and effective, I utilise a variety of industry-leading digital tools and tech-enhanced Learning: I integrate resources such as Century Tech, CGP, Corbett Maths, ATOM Learning, and Mathletics to provide interactive practice, instant feedback, and varied ways of visualising mathematical problems.
