About Luise
Hi, my name is Luise and I am a third year English student at the University of York. I am originally from Berlin, Germany, where I graduated with an A-Level equivalent of A*A*A. I am currently on track for a 2:1 degree.
I came to the UK in 2019 and have since familiarised myself with the English teaching system. I have helped various students in the UK and abroad via teaching services.
At the university, I am currently the Treasurer for one of the colleges, Secretary for the German Society, and Co-Leader for Green Langwith, a project for a more sustainable campus environment. Over the last two years I have also been involved in consulting projects, marketing internships, and one-to-one teaching opportunities. My free time hobbies are reading, writing, sewing, cooking, baking, travelling, and trying out new things as I enjoy keeping busy.

I am happy to help people from all levels and have previously taught people between the age of 6 and 17. After graduating from school in 2017, I did volunteering work in Costa Rica for eight months. Part of the volunteering experience was in a school in Heredia where I worked as an assistant for one of the English teachers and even taught my own class once.
l have always enjoyed learning more about languages which is why I am keen to help those who struggle with it.
In my opinion, a one to one teaching style has a lot to do with the other person's interest. Once you find out what the tutee likes, I try to include it in the teaching sessions. This works particularly well for languages where stories connect and writing or spelling difficulties can be made more interesting when focusing it on or around the other person's interests.
So, whether you are looking for oral, writing, or literary classes, or translation help, feel free to reach out to me and I am happy to help. The lesson can be up to two hours long and will take place at a convenient time for both parties.
