About Abugo

Hello! My name is Frances, and I am an experienced Teaching Assistant and tutor with a passion for helping children grow in confidence and achieve their potential.

I currently work in a primary school supporting pupils with a range of learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Alongside this, I have experience providing one-to-one and small-group tuition in English and Maths. I believe every child can succeed when given the right support, encouragement, and learning strategies.

My teaching style is patient, supportive, and tailored to the individual student. I enjoy helping learners overcome challenges, build confidence in their abilities, and develop a positive attitude towards learning. Seeing a student progress from uncertainty to confidence is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Outside of education, I enjoy reading, personal development, and continuous learning, all of which help me bring enthusiasm and curiosity into my lessons.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual learning style, ability, and goals. I create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel confident to ask questions, make mistakes, and develop their skills at their own pace.

I specialise in English for KS1 - KS3
students and focus on building strong foundations in reading, literature, speed reading, literacy, comprehension, and communication. My approach combines patience, structure, and positive reinforcement to help students grow in both ability and confidence.

Having worked as both a private tutor and a Teaching Assistant supporting children with different learning needs, including SEN pupils, I understand that every child learns differently. My aim is not only to improve academic performance but also to help students become confident, independent learners who enjoy their learning journey.
