About

Hi, I’m Liz!
I am a dedicated accounting tutor specialising in helping students master the foundations of finance. I graduated from West London College (WLC), where I successfully completed my AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. Having studied locally at WLC’s professional campus, I know exactly how to bridge the gap between classroom theory and the real-world skills employers look for.
My journey into accounting began because I love the clarity of numbers and the logic of a perfectly balanced ledger. However, I also remember how intimidating it can be when you first encounter double-entry bookkeeping or costing methods. I became a tutor to turn that initial confusion into total confidence for my students.
My Background & Expertise:
• Education: AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting from West London College.
• Syllabus Mastery: I am completely up-to-date with the official AAT Syllabus. I can confidently coach you through all core modules, including Introduction to Bookkeeping (ITBK), Principles of Bookkeeping Controls (POBC), Principles of Costing (PCTN), and The Business Environment.
• Exam Prep: I focus heavily on the specific layouts, mock exams, and time-management techniques required to clear your computer-based assessments (CBAs) on the first try.
Why I Choose to Tutor:
The AAT Level 2 is the gateway to an amazing career in finance, but everyone processes the rules of debit and credit differently. Traditional classes move quickly, leaving little time to stop and review. In our 1-on-1 sessions, we move entirely at your pace. I offer the patience, clear visual breakdowns, and practical analogies needed to make complex accounting principles feel simple.
Whether you are a student at a local college needing help with your modules, a career-changer breaking into bookkeeping, or preparing for an upcoming retake, I am here to help you get that pass!
Drop me a message to discuss your goals, and let's get started.

About the lesson

My lessons are highly structured, interactive, and completely tailored to your personal goals and learning pace. I don't believe in "one size fits all" teaching—every session is built around how you learn best.
How we structure our time:
• The Warm-Up: We start with a quick, low-pressure review of the previous lesson to make sure the foundations are rock-solid.
• Core Concept Breakdown: I break down new, complex topics into simple, bite-sized pieces using visual aids, clear analogies, and step-by-step examples.
• Active Practice: You take the wheel. We work through problems or exercises together, building your independence and confidence.
• Feedback & Wrap-Up: We finish by summarising what you've mastered and mapping out clear, manageable next steps.
My Teaching Methodology:
• Patience First: There are no "silly questions" in my classes. If a concept doesn't click the first time, we will approach it from a completely different angle until it does.
• Exam & Goal Alignment: If you are preparing for specific exams (like GCSE, A-Level, or IB), we focus heavily on official exam board criteria, mark schemes, and time-management techniques.
• Interactive Resources: I use a mix of digital whiteboards, shared documents, and custom worksheets so you always have high-quality materials to look back on.
Whether you need long-term academic support, a quick boost before an exam, or a confident introduction to a brand-new hobby, I will adapt my style to suit you perfectly.
