About Isha

Hello! My name is Isha, and I am a sophomore in high school. I decided to become an English tutor because it combines two of my favorite things: the English language and helping students succeed. In the past, I have taught dance classes and babysat. These opportunities have been the most rewarding experiences of my life, and I hope to continue that spark through tutoring elementary/middle school students. Some of my most notable qualities are that I am patient with everyone, determined to help any student accomplish their academic goals, flexible with timings/learning speeds, and a good communicator. Additionally, I am an A+ student with a 4.0 GPA. I believe that every student is capable of academic excellence with the right help, and that starts with you! I hope to work with you soon :)

About the lesson

My teaching approach is to make each session as interactive as possible because I believe that an interactive curriculum is more memorable and effective. I use tactics such as think, pair, and share; Q & A sessions; and competitive quiz games. As a dance teacher, I noticed that my students were able to pick up choreography quickly when they could interact with me and other students. I believe that this strategy effectively works in academics as well. I also believe that every student learns differently, so I am always open to new strategies. I am ready to adjust my teaching approaches to fit you or your student best!

Details

For private lessons, I charge each student $15 per hour. For group lessons, I charge each student $10 per hour. If you cancel the class 24 hours prior to the set class time, you will be fully refunded; otherwise, you will be charged 50% of the original price.
