About Luke

I bought my first electric guitar in 2006 at Music City in Asheville... before Guitar Center and Sweetwater shut them down. Through a combination of books, music theory classes at A-B Tech, and a TON of practice, I can finally play a barred F chord. I also have a strong foundation in music theory, harmonized scales, and chord inversions and voicings. I specialize in R&B guitar, "Hendrix, Steve Cropper, Curtis Mayfield." I'm also experienced in country/blues fingerstyle guitar, "Rev Gary Davis, Mississippi John Hurt, Chet Atkins". Regardless of your musical preferences, I'll work with you so you gain the confidence to play in any style. First lesson is free!

About the lesson

Tired of trudging through countless YouTube "teachers" shouting at you to "smash that subscribe button"? Too impatient going through the entire Mel Bay Guitar Method book series? Fear not! I understand your struggle.

Sure, I'll teach you chords, scales, and any songs you want to learn. But!, and this is important, I'll teach you WHY these scales work, HOW chords are made, and fundamental techniques you can use in any guitar style.

Don't just learn a handful of songs. Play with confidence and learn to make up your style.
