About Michael
I have a PhD in Film and Media Studies from the University of East Anglia. I have taught undergraduate students and adult learners. I have published academic papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented papers at conferences. I have over 15 years experience of teaching and I have recently begun to teach one-to-one sessions with children with special educational needs.

My teaching methodology is based primarily on what is referred to as a Socratic method of teaching. Whereby, the student is encouraged to speak about their learning topic. I have found that constantly encouraging and praising students leads to better learning outcomes, primarily because student's self-confidence begins to increase and they are more likely to engage with their subject.
