About Tanner
I've been tutoring students from grade school to college for five years. Although I specialize in academic writing, I also tutor students in philosophy, psychology, history, and classical literature. As an undergraduate student I studied philosophy and classical literature at Biola University. I received high commendation as a distinguished member of the Torrey Honors Institute. During my time as I student tutored younger classmen in essay writing and assisted professors in philosophical and psychological research. All of these experiences developed a strong passion for individualized education that emphasizes core principles and understanding over quick memorization and shallow results. I hope to serve others and share this passion through tutoring.

I focus on individualized education. This means that I specialize the lesson to match each student and that student's goals. However, my methodology emphasizes conversational learning surrounding core principles of each subject. By learning to converse about the subject well my students greatly grow in understanding and overcome the quick, shallow results of pure memorization.
