About Amelia
Spanish has been part of my life since childhood: it's the language of my family, and staying connected to it has always mattered to me. Over the years that connection turned into advanced fluency, and eventually into a genuine love of language learning itself. I now speak several languages at different levels, which means I understand, firsthand, what it actually feels like to start as a total beginner and slowly build confidence.
That experience shapes how I teach. I focus on practical, conversational Spanish: the language you'd actually reach for in a real situation, not just vocabulary lists. I explain grammar clearly and patiently, the way I wish it had been explained to me when I was learning it myself, and I never assume a beginner should already know something.
By day, I work as a project manager, which means reliability and follow-through are second nature to me. Lessons will be well-organized, consistent, and paced to where you actually are right now. Whether you're starting completely from zero or brushing off a few half-remembered phrases, I'd like to help you build real, usable confidence in Spanish.

I'm an advanced, heritage Spanish speaker (Mexican-American) teaching practical, conversational Spanish to true beginners. My focus is the language you'd actually use in real situations, not just textbook drills: ordering food, asking for directions, handling the unexpected. I learned to explain grammar clearly because I had to think it through myself, not because it came automatically, which means I can break things down the way a complete beginner actually needs. Lessons are relaxed and paced for people starting from zero who want real confidence, not perfection.
