About Rachel
After gaining a 2.1 in History from Leeds University, I undertook my PGCE History at the world renowned Institute of Education in London. Since then I have spent over 10 years teaching History GCSE and A-Level in London and the South East. I specialise in teaching the Tudors at A-Level (AQA), as well as the reigns of Kings Richard and John, Crime and Punishment, the Cold War, the USA conflict at home and abroad (Edexcel) at GCSE Level. In my current position as Subject Leader for Politics I am well placed to cover all aspects of the Politics A-Level course (Edexcel). Particular specialisms include British Politics, American Politics, core ideologies and feminism.

Over the last decade I have helped hundreds of young people to achieve top grades in their History and Politics exams. Typically upwards of 80% of the students in my A Level classes achieve A*-B. The last time one of my GCSE classes faced public examination over 40% of them achieved grade 9 (A**).
Gone are the days of teachers standing at the front of classrooms whilst students learn by rote. I use the latest educational research to inform my practise so I can better enable students to deepen their knowledge and understanding as well as improving their memory re-call.
I can travel across Bucks and Herts to deliver one-to-one History and Politics tuition in the comfort of your own home. Each session will last one hour and will be carefully tailored to suit the needs of the student.
