About Pooja
KALA JOTHI Selvi. POOJA BOOPATHI, the esteemed founder of AKSHAT NIRTHIYA PRIYA INSTITUTE, is a highly skilled Bharathanatyam practitioner who commenced her journey in this classical art form at the age of 6. She achieved her Arangetram in 2013 under the esteemed tutelage of Smt. Girija Murugan. With a commendable 8 years of teaching experience in Bharatham, Pooja has established herself as a seasoned instructor, holding a master's degree in Bharatham. Her notable achievements include prestigious titles such as Acharya Nritya Kalasree, Navarasa Natya Arpana, Kala Jothi, Narthana Kala Sarathy, and Nritya Kala Acharya. Pooja's contributions extend to world-record events and certifications in Asia, India, and the Tamil Nadu Book of Records. Notably, she graced the stage of the esteemed Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru in 2018 and has completed over 60 stage shows across Tamil Nadu. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Pooja has redirected her focus from her previous role as a dance teacher at Maharishi Vidya Mandir Mogappair, emphasizing her dedication to her institute. She has adapted by initiating online dance classes, organizing virtual and on-stage Salangai Pooja ceremonies, and providing platforms for her students to showcase their talents in temple programs and stage events. Currently, she directs her students in the intricacies of Nattuvangam, while her institute continues to flourish, benefiting over 200 students under her guidance over the past 8 years.
