About Lucía

My name is Lucía, and I am a dedicated science tutor with a background in Applied Chemistry and Biotechnology and several years of hands-on laboratory experience. I offer well-structured, reliable lessons that focus on building strong foundations, improving understanding, and boosting confidence in chemistry and biology. My teaching style is clear, and adaptable to each student’s level, using step-by-step explanations and real-world scientific examples to make complex concepts more approachable. I am professional, organized, and committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress. I work with middle school and high school students, as well as first-year college or university students who need academic support, exam preparation, or long-term guidance in the sciences.

About the lesson

My approach as a tutor My name is Lucía, and my goal as a tutor is to help students truly understand what they are learning, not just memorize it. I have a background in Applied Chemistry and Biotechnology, with several years of hands-on laboratory experience. My teaching methodology and techniques -I teach concepts first, followed by guided and independent practice -I break down complex topics into clear, manageable steps -I use visuals, analogies, and real laboratory examples to explain abstract ideas- -I ask questions to check understanding and encourage reflection -I focus on exam-style questions and common mistakes to improve performance A typical lesson: -Each lesson begins with a brief review to identify any gaps or difficulties. I then explain new concepts or revisit challenging material using clear examples. We work through practice problems together before the student attempts similar questions independently, with feedback and support. I end each lesson with a short summary and suggestions for practice to reinforce learning. What sets me apart -Strong laboratory experience, including DNA handling and cell culture -Ability to link chemistry and biology concepts to real academic and industry applications -A supportive teaching style for students who may feel overwhelmed Who my lessons are for My lessons are suitable for: -Middle school and high school students studying chemistry, biology, or general science -First-year college or university students needing support in introductory chemistry or life sciences -Students preparing for exams, assignments, or requiring long-term academic support -Learners who benefit from clear explanations, structure, and encouragement I adapt each lesson to the student’s level, learning style, and academic goals. We all learn differently :)
