About Kym
I’ve always been passionate about the look or narrative of ‘things’ however it wasn’t until my university years that my focus for architectural design was discovered.
I hold a Masters of Architecture for the University of South Australia. I’ve worked locally since 2013 including as a registered architect from 2016. I currently work as a senior architect in one of Adelaide’s largest practices.
I’ve been involved in several high-profile project across Adelaide and across multiple sectors. Some of these project have been lucky enough to have been awarded through the AIA including the SA Architects Medal.
Having taught a wide range of student groups, from first-year design studio to final-year through multiple university tutoring positions, I’ve been able to develop an open and collaborative teaching style aimed at getting students to see the potential in their own work.
Through open discussion and a collaborative workflow I aim to tease out the best aspects of a project, then work with that student to effectively communicate it in a required format.

Through over 10 years of working as a registered architect in collaborative studio practice environments as well as multiple university tutoring positions, I’ve developed an open and friendly teaching style aimed at guiding and assisting in developing student projects.
Through my lived-experience in architectural offices and involvement in several high-profile projects around Adelaide, I’m able to offer links between real-world design and conceptual design thinking.
My lessons offer a tailored approach with a focus on interrogation of a brief and ideas, developing conceptual thinking and methods of communication for Design Studio formats.
I offer 1 hour sessions for individuals or groups at all levels studying at university.
