About Willem
Hi, I'm Willem!
I'm an experienced independent arts producer, actor and director. I've written plays, directed films, managed festivals, and won awards for my work.
After graduating from QUT with a Bachelor of Creative Industries in 2016, I have maintained a busy, yet rewarding schedule of training and work within the independent Brisbane theatre scene. For example, last year, I produced an award-winning immersive show for Anywhere Festival (Chat with Lucifer), performed with The Curators in their expressionist collage King Lear Monster Show, and had multiple sword-fights with the Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble’s restoration comedy The Rover. This showcases some of the practical performance work I have undertaken recently.
Putting these skill sets into practical use over the past decade I have produced 7 short films, 5 full-length plays, 4 immersive performances and 2 transmedia projects.

I am an experienced independent arts producer, having worked on a diverse range of creative projects for the past decade.
I have advanced training in The Linklater Voice Method, Uta Hagen Technique, Kabuki, Viewpoints, Improvisational Comedy, Immersive Theatre, Theatre of the Oppressed, and Shakespeare. I've directed award-winning film and theatre projects and have worked extensively in the festival space.
