About Tristen
Over the course of his 15-year teaching career, Dr Naylor has taught 26 different courses in politics, international relations, and history at Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, and NYU, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Dr Naylor has also chaired admissions panels at Oxford and Cambridge, and conducted hundreds of admissions interviews over his career. He has successfully supervised over a hundred undergraduate and postgraduate dissertation/thesis projects, and has clocked up hundreds of hours of both one-on-one tutorial/supervision-style teaching as well as lecturing to audiences numbering in the hundreds.
In 2016, Oxford named Dr Naylor the 'Most Acclaimed Lecturer' in the Social Sciences and in 2019 he was recognised with the 'Excellence in Education Award' by the London School of Economics. He has also been the nominated short-listed finalists for the 'Small Group Teaching Award' (Cambridge, 2023), the 'Inspirational Teaching Award' (LSE, 2019, 2020), the 'Innovation in Teaching Award' (Oxford, 2014), and the 'Outstanding Tutor Award' (Oxford, 2013).

While I specialise in university and college admissions applications, I also have extensive experience with one-one-one tutoring/supervision, having taught PPE at Oxford, as well as HSPS and History & Politics at Cambridge. We'll work together in one-hour sessions focused on your needs so that you get the most out of our sessions together.
