About Emily
I am a UK harpist based in the Midlands. I graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with a first class degree where I studied with Rita Schindler. I have performed as a soloist across the UK, including venues such as Symphony Hall, Birmingham, Royal Festival Hall and Cadogan Hall. I made my concerto debut in 2017 with the Handel Harp concerto in Canterbury Cathedral. Whilst at the conservatoire, I had the opportunity to study with esteemed harpists such as Anaïs Gudemard, Anne Denholm and Sioned Williams. I have also performed to the Duchess of Cambridge. My awards include Henriette Renié Harp Prize 2018 and 2019 and Canterbury Festival Bursary Competition. As an experienced orchestral harpist, I have played with orchestras such as the Birmingham Philharmonic. Notable orchestral recordings include Daphnis and Chloe conducted by Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla played on BBC Radio 3.

I have experience teaching for ABRSM and Trinity graded examinations and can teach from beginner to diploma. I am able to teach students from age 6 upwards. I typically teach lessons from 30-60 mins. I am a very patient and flexible teacher, passionate about adapting teaching to different learning styles.
I have dedicated much of her career to pedagogy and won the RBC pedagogy prize in 2021. As well as teaching a selection of private students, I teach harp at Warwick Preparatory School and Kings High School and also teaches at Junior Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
