About Susie
Hello! I'm Susie, an award-winning theatre director, qualified teacher and creative mentor with seven years' experience working with children and young people across primary and secondary education.
I studied Drama, Applied Theatre and Education at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama before co-founding two theatre companies. My productions have won awards at the Edinburgh and Perth Fringes, and I've supported emerging playwrights whose work has been longlisted for prestigious playwriting awards.
Alongside my professional directing work, I've coached students for LAMDA examinations, with all my students achieving Distinctions. I've also mentored schoolchildren to write, direct and perform their own productions.
Creativity, accessibility and confidence-building are at the heart of my practice. I believe everyone has something unique to bring to a performance, and I love helping people discover their voice and develop their skills.
I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate and have up-to-date safeguarding training.

Whether you're preparing for an important audition, developing a monologue or stepping onto a stage for the first time, I offer personalised coaching to help you grow as a performer.
Drawing on my experience as a professional theatre director, qualified teacher and LAMDA coach, I offer support with:
Monologue coaching: Selecting, analysing and developing monologues, exploring character, intention and interpretation.
Audition preparation: Preparing for drama school, youth theatre and professional auditions.
LAMDA examinations: Developing performance skills, vocal technique, character interpretation and confidence.
GCSE & A-Level Drama: Supporting practical performance work, text interpretation and acting techniques.
Public speaking & confidence: Developing the skills to communicate clearly and confidently in front of others.
My Approach
I believe that great performances emerge through curiosity, experimentation and a willingness to take creative risks.
Rather than simply telling you how to perform a piece, we'll work collaboratively to explore the text, investigate character and experiment with different interpretations. I'll offer practical direction and constructive feedback, helping you make confident, purposeful acting choices that feel authentic to you.
Every lesson is tailored to you, whatever your experience, goals or individual needs. I have extensive experience supporting students with additional learning needs and can adapt the pace, structure and approach of our sessions accordingly.
Above all, I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment where you feel comfortable experimenting, taking risks and developing your craft.
Sessions are typically one hour, with longer sessions available.
