About Steven
Hi,
My name is Steven. I’ve been an engineer for about 18 years, a traveler, snowboarder, and passionate engineer. I’ve always felt a passion for learning things and being able to explain them to others in a simple and easy to understand manner. I am a dad to an amazing 3 year old who asks a lot of questions, even too many for me! But it is always rewarding to be able to teach others, and I look forward to teaching you!

We can start with the basic concepts or go deep into architectural design depending on your skill level.
We would cover the concepts, design patterns, learn how to avoid common pitfalls and save time, and make code future proof. Anyone can take code from stackoverflow and copy/paste it, but what separates the great engineers is the deep understanding of how everything works and picking the right tool for the task.
I will teach you “how to Google”, and piece together a solution even for a task which you weren’t prepared for.
I’m also savvy with Linux terminal, if you’d like to learn that.
And then there are databases, regular expressions and all of the other need-to-knows which they don’t teach you in school.
We would cover that and a lot more.
