Ms. Laila spent a year in our all girls high school located in Brooklyn, New York through a teacher exchange program. The entire school community quickly fell in love with Ms. Laila, not only because she is an expert language teacher who understands how to build confidence in her students into learning a new language (Arabic) and creating engaging inquiry based learning activities that promoted language immersion, but because of who Ms. Laila is as a person. Her kindness and passion for teaching and learning touched all of our hearts. I had the pleasure of working alongside her as her Instructional Coach, and got to see first-hand how much Ms. Laila cares for her students, their wellbeing, and the lengths she will go to ensure that her students understand the content.
