About Saman

Hi! My name's Saman, and I'm a lot of things, some of which include: an 18-year-old, a poet, a professional tutor, a fast food worker, a first-year university student, and an aspiring stand-up comic.

Above all, however, I am a teacher at heart: education is my passion, and sharing knowledge is my motivation in life.

I graduated from Perth Modern School in 2023 with an ATAR of 99.15 and a WACE award in English, and have just commenced studying a Bachelor in Science with a combined Master of Secondary Education at UWA (exciting!). I've lived in Perth since about 2015, when I moved here from Adelaide.

About the lesson

I'd like to consider myself an ATAR English pro; I've been obsessed with the written word since I was young, and as a secondary student, achieved top English scores consistently - both in school assessments and WACE performance. When I'm not offering private tutoring, you can find me working as a professional classroom tutor at North Shore Coaching College, where I help young kids achieve excellence.
...But this isn't about me.
This is about your, or your child's, English performance.
As someone who didn't always do so well in assessments for English, I'm more than familiar with the struggle for success that English presents: but because of that, I'm also familiar with the climb upwards to excellence - the techniques, skills, and strategies you need to nail English without fail.
First, I get to know my students: in an initial lesson, we'll work together, looking at past performance and recent work to determine strengths and weaknesses. From there on, I use my knowledge of response structures, language devices, and other key curriculum points to structure customised one hour lessons for students that are designed to help them get the hang of aspects of the subject they may not have mastered quite yet.
Because English as a subject tends to be more general in middle years, my lessons are most appropriate for students in years 10 to 12 - but if you or your child is younger, I'm more than happy to simplify concepts and help build an early foundation for a strong understanding of the subject.
My goal here is not just to help students achieve high grades in English: it is to help them develop an understanding and appreciation for the critical consumption of media that is intrinsic to English as a high school subject.
