About Kiana

Hi, I’m Kiana. I’m a UC Berkeley graduate and a current law student at Santa Clara University with a strong foundation in writing, reading comprehension, and academic success. I’ve worked in legal environments where clear communication, attention to detail, and analytical thinking are essential—and I bring those same values into every tutoring session. I’ve supported students from middle school through college and believe that learning should feel empowering, not overwhelming. Whether you're working on essay structure, grammar, or reading analysis, I will meet you where you are and help you build skills and confidence at your own pace. My goal is to make each session productive, clear, and encouraging. You don’t have to be a perfect writer to get better, you just need someone who believes in your potential and knows how to guide you there. Let’s build those skills together.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is supportive, practical, and tailored to each student’s goals. I begin by identifying strengths and areas for growth, then build lessons around those needs with structure and encouragement. I break writing and reading into manageable steps, making each session feel clear and productive.

A typical lesson includes a warm-up or check-in, focused time on a specific skill or assignment, and a short wrap-up to reinforce the material. Whether it’s organizing an essay, tackling grammar, or improving reading comprehension, I make sure students leave feeling more confident.

What sets me apart is that I bring real-world writing experience from both my time at UC Berkeley and my current work as a law student. I help students communicate more effectively, think critically, and approach school with less stress and more confidence.

I work with students at all levels, from middle school to college, and adjust my teaching style to match each individual’s pace and learning preferences.
