About Art
I have been playing the guitar since I was nine years old, and have been giving lessons to students of all ages and levels of experience since I was 18. My love of the guitar and music in general is equaled only by my love of seeing my students break through their barriers to a love of music of their own.

My teaching approach is based on guiding my students with patience and consistency towards "the door" through which their next achievements can be found, though the student must open the door themselves! My passion for teaching is motivated by my desire to pass on the knowledge I accrued over 24 years playing the guitar, as I believe that good teachers were my foundation. I want to pay it forward, so to speak, and help others to build their own foundation!

Details
I generally prefer to teach 1-hour lessons, as a half hour is usually not enough time to get the student's materials in order, tune their guitar, etc. I also offer 90 minute lessons for students who would like more time, and this also benefits both me and the student if I have to commute to their home.
