About Sanjana
I have 10 years of experience teaching this art form in India. I have also performed extensively at prestigious dance festivals across India and the USA and presented several lecture demonstrations on Bharathanatyam. Through my journey in this art form, I have participated in various workshops to learn the nuances of bharathanatyam to better equip myself to be an instructor. I performed my arangetram in 2010 and have cleared various certification exams specifically designed for the classical art forms in India.

Classes will typically begin and end with exercises and stretches specifically designed to gain strength, stamina and physical alignment. Students can expect their journey in Bharathanatyam dance to be divided in 3 categories:
- Beginner level: Learn basic footwork, hand movements, neck and eye movements and hand gestures typically used to convey a story
- Intermediate level: Learn full dance pieces set to traditional music utilizing the all concepts learned in the beginner level
- Advanced level: Learn facial expressions used to efficiently convey a story, learn in-depth rhythmic and theoretical aspects
Through these various levels, students will also learn about Indian mythological stories and traditions.
These classes are suitable for kids age 5+ years and adults. Separate dance classes offered for kids 5-14 years of age and for adults 16+ years. It's never too late to learn Bharathanatyam and there is NO age limit - just willingness to learn the art form.
