  • 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

My interest in mathematics and science developed strongly during my A-levels science courses, where I built a solid foundation in analytical thinking and problem-solving. This interest continued to grow during my undergraduate studies as a Biology major on the pre-med track at Temple University. My tutoring experience began when I started helping classmates understand difficult concepts, and I realized how effectively structured explanations can improve understanding and confidence.
  • 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I teach Mathematics (Algebra, Precalculus, and Calculus), along with Physics and foundational Chemistry. I particularly enjoy teaching topics that develop logical thinking and problem-solving skills, such as algebraic equations and calculus concepts like derivatives. In physics, I like explaining concepts such as motion, forces, and energy using real-life applications. I focus especially on simplifying abstract or theory-heavy topics so students can understand them step by step.
  • 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

I have been inspired by my professors at Temple University, whose teaching methods emphasized clarity and efficiency. I especially admire how they used simple techniques and shortcuts to break down complex problems. I incorporate similar strategies into my own tutoring to make difficult concepts more accessible and easier to understand for students.
  • 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

A good tutor should be patient, adaptable, and a strong communicator. It is important to explain concepts in multiple ways depending on the student’s learning style. I also use practical teaching methods such as sharing detailed notes through email and screen sharing during sessions so students can follow along clearly. Creating an interactive and supportive learning environment is essential for student success.
  • 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

During my academic journey, I often helped classmates prepare for exams, especially in mathematics. One experience that stood out was helping a student struggling with calculus. By breaking down problems into smaller steps and focusing on understanding rather than memorization, they were able to improve significantly. This experience reinforced my passion for teaching and helping others learn effectively.
  • 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

During my A-levels and early university studies, I faced challenges with abstract concepts in calculus and physics. These topics required consistent practice and deeper conceptual understanding. Over time, I learned to approach problems systematically and seek clarity when needed. These experiences now help me better support students facing similar difficulties.
  • 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

I am passionate about both education and healthcare. As a pre-med Biology student at Temple University, I am committed to understanding scientific concepts in depth. Teaching allows me to share that knowledge while also developing strong communication and mentorship skills, which I greatly value.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof (besides answering this interview questions :-P)?

My strong academic background in science and mathematics, combined with hands-on tutoring experience, allows me to support students effectively. I also bring structured teaching methods such as organized digital notes, screen sharing, and step-by-step explanations to ensure clarity. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel confident, engaged, and capable of mastering challenging concepts.
