My teaching method is to research and read as much until you have a great understanding of the topic. Once that is achieved I like the students to write the basic understanding of the topic in their own words. This is then checked by me and correct key terms are added.
Practicing a lot of previous exam style questions with the correct key terms further tests your understanding of the topic.
