About Daisy
I grew up in Lincoln where I went to LSST and studied Biology, Chemistry and Geography at A-level. Having needed a Chemistry tutor in lower school, I appreciate the effectiveness of having that extra help on the side! Simultaneous to my studies was my commitment to piano, in which I achieved grade 7. I went to the University of East Anglia where my passion for Biology/ Biochemistry grew; obtaining an upper second class (Hons) degree. I am now studying an MSc in Biomedical Sciences at UCL and am therefore, now based in London. I hope to help inspire GCSE/ A-level students at how interesting and amazing the sciences are! I have been private tutoring for 6 months now and have seen some great results!

I have scientific knowledge to a MSc degree level and wish/ aim to teach GCSE chemistry/ biology and A-level biology to school students. I am an enthusiastic and friendly person who's main aim is to inspire young students who are considering a science degree/ career path to follow it! My personal method of teaching comprises a mixture of videos, drawing diagrams and applying knowledge to past paper questions; therefore I will carry out this approach with students but tailor all aspects of my teaching to their specific learning style. I believe it is important to teach in the style which best suits the students, although I will always advise/ push for past paper questions as a strong and effective learning method. It is important that the teaching sessions are interactive and not just a case of explaining topics and making notes; this gives the most effective results. I will gather topics of interest prior to the sessions and make worksheets/ useful diagrams of main scientific processes to take home and additionally, a quiz for the beginning of the session comprised of content from previous sessions; it is important to keep on top of all content. As I'm merely 4/5 years older than an A-level student, I believe that my story and teaching styles will be relatable; and therefore, produce the most desired results!
