I think the best way to learn a language is to jump right in! During the lesson you forget that you know Italian, slowly realizing you're learning without having to study rules on top of rules on top of rules, like a child does when starting to speak for the first time: there is a reason if our mother tongue comes out so easily, even before studying its rules in school: no alternatives and LOTS of practice
