**My Approach as a Tutor**
**Teaching Method and Techniques:**
My tutoring approach is rooted in personalized, student-centered methods. I believe in understanding each student’s unique learning style and tailoring my techniques to fit their needs. I use a blend of direct instruction, interactive problem-solving, and real-world applications to make complex concepts more relatable and easier to grasp. By incorporating visual aids, hands-on activities, and step-by-step explanations, I ensure that students not only learn but also apply their knowledge effectively.
**Typical Lesson Plan:**
1. **Assessment:** Each session begins with a brief review of previous material to assess understanding and identify areas that need reinforcement.
2. **Concept Introduction:** I introduce new concepts with clear explanations and examples, often using visual aids or analogies.
3. **Guided Practice:** We work through problems together, allowing students to practice applying concepts with my guidance and immediate feedback.
4. **Independent Practice:** Students tackle similar problems on their own to build confidence and reinforce their skills.
5. **Review and Q&A:** We wrap up by reviewing key points and addressing any remaining questions to ensure full comprehension.
What Sets Me Apart:
What distinguishes me as a tutor is my ability to balance academic rigor with practical application. My experience as a Division 1 athlete has honed my discipline and problem-solving skills, which I integrate into my tutoring to help students develop not just academic proficiency but also resilience and effective study habits. Additionally, my background in Biology allows me to provide insights into how math and science are interconnected, making learning more cohesive.
I offer tutoring for students at various levels, from high school through undergraduate courses. My focus is on Math (including Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus) and Science (such as Biology and General Science). Whether you’re preparing for exams, needing help with specific class assignments, or seeking to strengthen your overall understanding, my lessons are designed to cater to your individual academic needs and goals.
