About Christy
I didn’t always enjoy music growing up — it was something I had to do at school, and for a while, it felt more like a chore than a joy. But over time, I started to connect with music on my own terms, and that’s when everything changed. I discovered a genuine love for the flute and realised that being able to play music is a real gift — not just a skill, but a way to express yourself, relax, and connect with others. Now, with 15 years of playing experience and an ABRSM Grade 8 qualification, I’m a university student who still finds time to play the flute regularly — both for fun and as part of my local community. Teaching is something I’ve grown passionate about because I know what it’s like to start off unsure or unmotivated, and how powerful it can be to grow in confidence with the right guidance. I believe that anyone can enjoy and succeed in music when learning in a supportive and encouraging environment. My goal is to help students find their own musical voice, whether they're picking up the flute for the first time or returning to it after a break. I’m patient, friendly, and genuinely excited to help others discover the same joy in music that I found.

I’ve been playing the flute for 15 years and hold ABRSM Grade 8. I offer fun, tailored lessons for all ages and levels, focusing on strong technique, musicality, and confidence. My approach is supportive and student-led, creating a positive environment where learners can grow at their own pace and enjoy making music.

Perfect! Christy is super lovely, easy to follow and very encouraging
- Mary has a beautiful tone on the flute and played her scales with great sound and control. She has a strong start already! With a bit more practice on remembering the notes in each scale and becoming more familiar with them, she’ll gain even more confidence and fluency.Christy's response :
