About Junika
I am an experienced maths tutor with over five years of teaching experience, supporting pupils from Primary level through to GCSE. I specialise in working with pupils who experience maths anxiety, low confidence, or feelings of being overwhelmed by the subject.
Alongside my tutoring work, I am an Accredited Education Mental Health Practitioner, which has fostered my calm, informed, and supportive approach to learning. I understand how anxiety can affect concentration, confidence, and performance, and I tailor my teaching to meet each pupil’s emotional as well as academic needs.
My lessons are structured, professional, and carefully planned, using clear explanations and a gradual, confidence-building approach. I maintain high standards of professionalism, including punctuality, clear communication with parents and pupils, and consistent lesson routines.
I am committed to helping pupils feel safe, supported, and capable in maths, whether their goal is to build confidence, reduce anxiety, or achieve the grades they need for their next stage of education.

My lessons are calm, structured, and supportive, designed for pupils who feel anxious, overwhelmed, and want to build confidence in maths.
I use the “I do, we do, you do” teaching approach to build confidence and a strong sense of self-efficacy. This means I first model a question while talking through the method. We then complete a similar question together, before you attempt a question independently (once you feel comfortable and ready!). This gradual approach helps reduce pressure whilst also building your skills.
Each lesson lasts 55 minutes and is paced to suit the individual pupil.
I have over five years’ experience as a maths tutor and have had the privilege of supporting pupils to achieve their desired grades — whether to access their chosen A-levels or college courses, or to work through maths anxiety and rebuild confidence.
I teach pupils from Primary level through to GCSE, adapting lessons to suit the developmental needs of each learner.
