About Omar
I am a PhD student in Cosmology, at The University of Cambridge.
Prior to that, I was a Physics student at the School of Excellence of the University of Padua, and at the Department of Physics of the University of Padua.
I have experience in supervising students at the undergraduate and master level.
In the past, I created and organised a popular science event at my previous university town (Padua, Italy). I have been also engaged with other popular science initiatives.

In my view teaching a subject is chameleonic. It adapts to the students, based on their needs and goals.
Some students will want to walk. While others will prefer to climb to reach a mountain. It is not uncommon to find those that just want to relax on a green grass watching a sky full of stars.
My goal will always be to make a student independent, through challenges.
I will make sure they are questioned, and especially, question.
Giving a correct answer is important. Making questions is essential.

I had the privilege of interacting with Omar throughout the whole duration of my undergrad. He helped me a lot. I feel he has helped me to grow as a physicist as much as some of my professors did in Uni, he is awesome. In particular he likes to explain things from a point of view which is at the same time both concrete and intuitive. Some professors/researchers in Physics are very good in their research but then are not that good in explaining things. Omar instead is very effective in communicating ideas. What I appreciated the most of him is that he would easily adapt very abstract arguments to my level and he would present them to me in the way that I would find the most natural. And he has never forced me to think in another way, in a way orthogonal to mine. He cares a lot that you can find "your way" to do physics and math. This is great because not only he can help you to pass the exam in the short period but in the longer term he can actually help you to learn "how to think" and how to become more independent. I was able to appreciate this quality of him only after years, after having lessons with other tutors. Also I must say I had a lot of fun with him, sometimes he can be really funny. He is clearly passionate about what he does and while you discuss with him you can for sure feel his driven force, you feel supported. He has an awful amount of energy that he puts in his teaching activities as he gets emotionally involved in what you do, I mean I felt he cared a lot about that I could reach my goals and actually sometimes he pushes you to do even more! He is one of that kind of tutors that makes you appreciate more and more the subject, def one of the best tutors I've had so far. I have only good memories of him.
I know Omar since we were together at the university. He is brilliant in math and physics, and he is capable of explaining difficult concepts in easy-to-understand terms (for example with simple pictures). He is talented, motivated, trustworthy and above all he is also a very nice person. I am sure he would be an excellent teacher at all levels from high-school to university, and you would love to work with him. (by Riccardo Gonzo)
