About Ella
Having thrived under two years of world-class teaching at Cambridge, I have acquired a comprehensive understanding not only of my subjects but of the process of language acquisition. At the same time, I have the benefit of still being in education and approach teaching from the perspective of the student, a mindset which I have admired in my many PhD and post-doctorate lecturers over the course of my degree.

Offering 45min lessons in language or literature to students of any proficiency up to A-level/B1.
Lesson formats guided by the student’s individual needs, but focusing on developing a strong fundamental understanding of linguistic/literary concepts while facilitating open and creative approaches and exploration of areas of particular interest. Ultimately, my goal is to recreate the learning environments from which I’ve benefited so much - prioritising enjoyment and student-led learning as well as thoroughness.
I’ve worked with children in voluntary and paid positions over the last several years, whether it be babysitting jobs, helping out in my old primary school, working as an au pair or providing one-on-one tutoring for secondary school entrance exams, and have found each experience immensely fulfilling. It would be a privilege to be able to further apply my passion for languages and contribute to students’ understanding and enjoyment of their education.
