About Livia

I am a 19-year-old second year Japanese Studies student at the University of Cambridge with a strong passion for languages, cultures, literature, and helping others achieve their academic goals.

As someone who has personally experienced the competitive Cambridge admissions process, I understand how challenging and overwhelming university applications can feel. My aim is to share my experience and knowledge to help students approach their applications with greater confidence and preparation.

Additionally, I speak five languages fluently: English, French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch, and have experience teaching English as a foreign language, French, and Italian.

I would consider myself a patient and committed tutor who aims to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing their ideas and improving their skills. I look forward to hearing from you:)

About the lesson

As a second-year Japanese Studies student at the University of Cambridge, I offer personalised online tutoring for sixth-form (or equivalent) students preparing for university applications, particularly those interested in applying to Oxford or Cambridge. I can offer lessons tailored to the European or International baccalaureates as well, seeing as I'm very familiar with these and have experienced both myself.

My teaching approach is friendly, interactive and tailored to each student's individual needs and goals. Having recently experienced the Cambridge admissions process myself, I understand the challenges applicants face and aim to make the process feel more approachable and manageable.

My lessons focus on developing confidence, critical thinking and communication skills through mock interviews, discussions and constructive feedback. Depending on the student's needs, I can help with personal statement preparation, mock interviews, exploring academic interests and understanding what universities look for in applicants.

Lessons typically last 60 minutes, although this can be adjusted depending on the student's preferences and goals.

My lessons are primarily aimed at students preparing for university applications, particularly those interested in languages, humanities and Oxbridge admissions.
