About Metha
I am completing my PhD in Astrophysics at the University of Cambridge. I also hold first class undergraduate and Master's degrees from Cambridge, in Experimental and Theoretical Physics. I have been offering private tutoring for over 9 years now and have plenty of experience teaching all age groups. I currently do some teaching at the University of Cambridge to third year undergraduates in their General Relativity course. I genuinely love to teach and every year I take on a few students (usually GCSE - A-Level) to mentor and guide them through the exam process. I am more than happy to offer references from my past students.

When I get a new student I begin by assessing the student's strengths and weaknesses and identifying which areas to work on. Then each week the student and I will choose a topic; I will spend the first part of the lesson explaining and demonstrating examples on that topic. Then I will set some questions and ask the student to talk through their approach to the questions and their solutions with me. I also usually set a small amount of homework so that students don't forget what we learned inbetween classes, but I understand that school homework can already be quite overwhelming so I try not to set too much unless the student asks for it.
We have a strong focus on past paper questions in my lessons, in order to get the students used to the style of these as soon as possible and understand what is expected of them to achieve their dream grade.

I charge £30 an hour for GCSE and £40 for A-Level students, with discounts if you choose to take more than one lesson per week. I also offer the option of group classes, with groups of 2 students, where the fee is reduced. Please ask if you are interested in this option, as I can join you up with students currently on my waiting list for group classes.
