About Sofia
I am a final year Biochemistry Bath student with a 2:1 degree. I have a particular interest in genetics and neuroscience, with genetics being one of my highest achieving module (a first in all genetics modules taken). During my university career I have been a peer mentor to first year Biochemistry students guiding them through their first academic year. Prior to that I have studied in the Falcon school in Nicosia achieving an AAB in A levels and 94% in the Apolytirion (Greek High School Diploma). During my high school career I have been able to tutor first year Agriculture students in the UCLan University Cyprus on basic concepts in cellular biology and non-organic chemistry. Additionally, I have been able to receive a week of practice in the Krittou Terra Environmental Centre as well as increase my knowledge on PCR and sample handling in the Nicosia Thalassemia Research Centre. I have also represented the school in a Biology competition in the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics.

I am a final year Biochemistry student with a 2:1 degree. I would be happy to tutor A level students or first year Biology/Biochemistry University students. My teaching methodology includes lectures and explanation of the topic followed by asking and going through questions with the tutee. However if the tutee wishes to discuss and concentrate on a particular topic I add specific case studies as well as keeping the lectures and question aspect.

Five stars! They made everything so easy to understand, even the excretory system and the nephron structure, which I was stuck on. And they were always so positive and friendly, which made me feel more comfortable asking questions.
I'm usually super shy, but I clicked with Sofia right away. They made learning fun and didn't make me feel dumb if I didn't get something right away. They were patient and explained things in a way that made sense to me.
Overall, I'd totally recommend this tutor to anyone who needs help with biology. They were really good at what they do, and they made learning enjoyable
