About James
Hello. My name is James. I am from the U.K. but I am now living in Portugal. I have over ten years of experience teaching English as a foreign language. I gained my CELTA qualification from Cambridge English in 2015, at International House in Lisbon. Since then, I have been teaching students from all around the World. I have worked with students with varying levels of English, from total beginners to advanced students. I really enjoy meeting new people, especially when I am helping them to achieve their learning goals. I have various hobbies and interests including gardening, hiking, photography, cooking, art, music, conservation and cinema. I adapt my classes to my students' individual needs. The focus of the class is to give the students opportunities to practice speaking English as much as possible, to improve fluency. I will identify any weak points you may have as a language learner and create a personalized curriculum to help you achieve your goals. I have a lot of experience preparing students for IELTS speaking tests and I provide an IELTS training package to help students get their desired band score. I also have a lot of experience helping students to be able to effectively communicate in a range of professional and business situations. I create a fun and relaxed class environment where you can feel more confident speaking English.
