About Emmanuelle
English was always my favourite subject at school, and I hope to incur the kind of passion I have always felt for the language in you. I have always academically excelled in English, achieving A* at IGCSE level, and later a 7 in Higher Level English Literature in IB. I attended one of the best schools in Paris (EJM) and a top IB school in the UK (Ardingly College). I now attend the prestigious University of Edinburgh, studying History. I have found that the English language skills I have acquired over the last nineteen years have given me a special edge in my History essays, and likewise the rigorous analytical and structural skills indelible to History have given me the best possible set of tools to tackle English. My interest has grown from Literature back into the bare roots of the language, and in the summer of 2015 I became a CELTA qualified teacher, equipped to teach the English Language to non-native speakers from beginner level. I find that I am particularly well equipped to teach as I am bilingual in English and French (and soon hopefully trilingual in Spanish), have spent my whole life in multicultural schools and am therefore particularly sensitive to the struggles of an English language learner. I started tutoring other students at the age of fifteen, and have only had success in this domain. I love teaching and I believe that the cultural wealth of the English language is such that I can find something to interest anyone and everyone. I am confidently able to teach English at any level, from beginner to A Leve/ IB and can adapt to suit your needs.
