About Aja
Hi!
I’m a certified elementary teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching grades 1–3. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, along with certifications in ESL and Special Education.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to teach a variety of learners and support students academically, socially, and emotionally. I’ve been honored as Teacher of the Year and have served in leadership roles, such as grade-level chair and campus committees, where I’ve helped improve instruction and student outcomes.
I’m passionate about creating a positive, engaging learning environment where students feel supported and confident. I believe every child can succeed with the right tools, encouragement, and personalized instruction.

Hi!
I’m so excited to support your child’s reading and writing journey. My lessons are designed to help students feel confident, successful, and even enjoy learning. With over 10 years of elementary teaching experience, I specialize in helping young learners grow in phonics, reading comprehension, and writing skills at their own pace.
My Teaching Approach:
I use a supportive, step-by-step approach that meets your child where they are. I combine phonics instruction, guided reading, and hands-on activities to keep lessons engaging and easy to understand. I also use modeling and “think-alouds” so students can clearly see how to apply each skill.
What a Lesson Looks Like:
Each session is structured but fun and includes:
1. A quick review or warm-up activity
2. A focused reading skill (like phonics or comprehension)
3. Guided reading practice with support
4. A writing activity to build skills and confidence
5. Positive feedback and encouragement throughout
What Makes Me Different:
As a certified teacher, ESL specialist, and Teacher of the Year, I understand how to support all types of learners—including those who may feel frustrated or behind. I focus not only on improving skills, but also on helping students believe in themselves. I pride myself on being patient, encouraging, and making learning a positive experience.
