I specialise in Pilates training focused on core strength, posture correction, spinal mobility, and functional body alignment.

With over 9 years of experience in teaching Pilates and a strong foundation from 10 years of teaching Zumba,a movement-based training, I design sessions that are safe, structured, and results-oriented.

  • 1. Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

    I conduct Pilates sessions. Pilates is a series of exercises for strengthening & toning , especially through the core which helps you combat the poor posture pains that you feel from everyday use of phones and long sitting hours at the office.

    I had been doing more of Zumba (cardio) classes and once I tried Pilates, I realised it is great for strengthening and toning with a focus on your core and for increasing your flexibility. Since it is not designed to be an aerobic activity, it's a great addition to my fitness routine.
  • 2. What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

    I have been passionate about fitness since more than a decade ago. Since the day I tried Pilates, I fell in love with the series of exercises that engages your muscles in a strong but gentle way.

    Once I started teaching Pilates, the positive response that I recieved after each session motivated me further to learn more.
  • 3. How does your work help society?

    The best thing about Pilates is that it can be tailored to suit individual needs, all age groups, different fitness levels, the elderly, and those who have injury or back pain or knee issues. My work helps students to achieve their personal fitness goals.
  • 4. If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

    Anyone who is consistent, disciplined and passionate about their work/fitness is my role model. I can name a few celebrities who I look upto as great role models like Akshay Kumar, Milind Soman for being disciplined and consistent about their fitness lifestyle. Of course, this is from what I get to know about them through social media.
  • 5. Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

    Outside teaching, my favourite hobby is painting. I love to draw and paint, it can be on anything from canvas paper to earthen pots.
  • 6. Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

    I teach aerobics/Zumba classes to young kids at a school and the love & affection that the children shower makes me a happy soul.
