About Ella
I am an enthusiastic UC graduate with certification in teaching and tutoring English to non-native speakers. I graduated with honors from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a BA in Literature and Creative Writing. During my education, I tutored students' essay writing abilities, both professionally and informally. The students I worked with saw growth in their writing abilities as well as improvement in their grades. After graduation, I lived abroad in the UK where I obtained CELTA certification to teach English to non-native English speakers.

I am very hands on as a tutor and teacher and rely on visuals, games, and interactive work to help students further understand and connect with the material. Patience is key when learning anything new, so I remain attentive and assertive through lessons and edits. I'm also very enthusiastic and encouraging as a tutor and editor as I love to see when my students suddenly grasp the material being taught. It's important for students to feel like they are being supported so they do not become disgruntled or impatient.
