About Sadiat

My name is Sadiat Osundina, and I'm a certified Yoruba teacher based in Lagos, Nigeria, with over 35 years of classroom teaching experience. I hold a B.Ed in Teacher Education and Language Arts/Linguistics from the University of Ibadan and an N.C.E in English and Yoruba, and I'm certified by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria. Throughout my career, I taught Yoruba grammar, literature, and culture to secondary school students, set and marked examinations, and guided students through creative projects, including Yoruba plays. I bring the same discipline, warmth, and structure to teaching adults and foreign learners online today, and I look forward to helping you build real confidence in the Yoruba language.

About the lesson

My Yoruba lessons are designed for children, adults and foreigners who are starting completely from scratch, whether you're planning to visit or live in Nigeria, you're married into a Yoruba family, or you simply want to reconnect with your heritage. We begin with the basics: greetings, pronunciation, and everyday conversation, then build gradually towards real fluency. Every lesson includes cultural context, common proverbs, and practical expressions so you're learning how Yoruba people actually speak, not just textbook phrases. Lessons are patient, structured, and paced to match your comfort level, with regular review to make sure concepts stick before we move forward.
