About Michael
Hi, I’m a fun, friendly tutor with a First Class Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Leeds. I also achieved grade AAA in maths, chemistry and geography A-Levels and straight A*s at GCSE . Full DBS clearance verified.
I've always been passionate about maths and science, and being used to helping out my course mates at school/university, I began tutoring my friends and my parents’ friends children, before successfully tutoring in my local area via word of mouth. Last year I really enjoyed volunteering in schools to lead STEM projects with pupils. I'm someone who takes great pride in helping others to achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

I have experience tutoring GCSE level maths/science both online and in-person and experienced at adapting my teaching methods to suit my students individual needs and learning styles. I have great knowledge of the exam structure and curriculum and can help with exam technique when answering practice questions. I aim to build confidence and ability with exam questions, so that when the exam comes around, you'll be confident with how the questions are worded and can tackle them head on.
I feel like my age allows me to connect with students better, as I have gone through what they are doing relatively recently. I have been studying and revising for exams for many years, so I know all the useful tips and tricks for success. I understand the pressures of school and exams, and I know how to explain concepts on a peer level when either a teacher or textbook doesn't explain it so well! I really enjoy getting to know my students and this way we can enjoy our sessions and learn a lot along the way!
I am only teaching online at the moment, in this current environment. However, after the situation changes, I would be open to either carrying on with classes online or discussing potentially visiting you at home.
