About Jake
I'm a Chemical Engineering student, on track for a 1st class honours. I have A-Levels in Physics, Maths, Chemistry and Biology. I have tutored students at GCSE level in the past whilst studying for my A-levels, and as an example, have enabled a struggling student working at a D grade in Maths and physics (a 2 or 3 in new GCSE format) to achieve an A in Maths and a high B in Physics (7 or 8). I'm more than capable of tutoring to A-level standard if required also!

I tutor at GCSE level mostly but I'm able to tutor you at an A-level standard in any form of mathematics (algebra, calculus, further maths), organic or Inorganic Chemistry, along with Biology and Physics topics as well. My teaching methodology revolves around initially working on areas of the syllabus the student is struggling with. This is what can turn a failing grade into a passing one. Once I have a grasp on what the topics are that you are struggling with I will create a plan to teach each topic to you, using examples and practice questions. I am a firm believer in practice makes perfect. Repetition is the best way to fully understand the methods of answering the questions, especially in Maths and Physics. Once we get you up to standard in these topics, we will practice questions from the whole syllabus, ensuring there are no remaining weak points in your knowledge of the topic.
