About Kayla
My interest in chemistry began with curiosity about how substances transform and interact under different conditions. This curiosity led me to complete a B.Sc in Chemical Technology, where I studied both theoretical concepts and applied chemical processes. Over 9 years of teaching, I have helped students move from uncertainty to confidence through patient explanation and structured guidance. I approach teaching with empathy and adaptability, recognizing that many students struggle due to gaps in foundational understanding. I focus on breaking down complex ideas into logical, manageable steps and explaining concepts in multiple ways to suit different learning styles. My teaching philosophy prioritizes clarity, confidence building, and long-term understanding. Outside teaching, I stay connected to chemistry through continued learning, scientific reading, and applied exploration of chemical technologies. These experiences enrich my lessons and keep them relevant. Teaching chemistry is deeply fulfilling because I see students discover their ability to think scientifically and apply reasoning with confidence.

Chemistry becomes far more understandable when students are guided to see the logic behind reactions and material behavior. My lessons focus on helping learners understand how atomic structure, bonding, and energy changes explain chemical processes they encounter in both academic and real-world contexts. I emphasize conceptual clarity, using structured explanations and visual reasoning to reduce confusion and build confidence. Lessons are calm, supportive, and designed to encourage curiosity rather than memorization.
Lesson content is carefully adapted to the learner’s academic stage. Beginners work on foundational terminology, periodic trends, simple reactions, and basic calculations. Intermediate students strengthen stoichiometry, equilibrium, thermochemistry, and laboratory interpretation skills. Advanced learners focus on reaction mechanisms, kinetics, electrochemistry, and exam-oriented analytical writing. Practice questions and guided correction are integrated into each lesson to ensure steady progress.
Chemistry lessons also help students develop scientific discipline and analytical thinking. Learners gain confidence in following logical sequences and interpreting data accurately. As understanding improves, many students begin approaching chemistry with interest rather than anxiety. My goal is to help learners feel capable of reasoning through chemical problems independently while developing a deeper appreciation for how chemistry shapes technology, nature, and everyday life.
