About Jake
I graduated in the top of the class from Seneca Valley High School in 2019, with a weighted GPA of 5.07. Currently, I am 4th semester Chemistry major at Bucknell University, involved with the Chemistry club and research. Additionally, I am currently a Teaching Assistant and grader for the university’s CHEM 205 and CHEM 230.

One of the biggest mistakes I have made and see in students' study habits is that they are passively learning- they are simply writing down what the instructor says, reading the assigned texts, or only rereading notes/ rewatching lectures. My teaching philosophy is that students should actively learn- decide what is important to write down, apply and demonstrate what you have learned, and most importantly, practice physically doing the problem. It is very easy to look at a problem/ answer and THINK that you know how to do it, but actually doing it is a different issue.
