About Isabelle
I am a Chemistry teacher with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford.
I have extensive experience working with young people, including volunteering work, from time as a Scout leader with teenagers, to tutoring disadvantaged primary school pupils. I bring both my academic expertise and youth experience into every session, adapting to each student’s learning style to ensure they feel supported and challenged.
After university I pursued a corporate career in Investment Management, qualifying as a Chartered Financial Analyst, but realised my true passion is in supporting young people and was delighted to make a career change into teaching.
I have space for two more pupils in the September 2026 academic year. If you're looking for a tutor who is patient, passionate, and committed to your child's success, I’d love to help!

With a passion for both learning and teaching, I offer personalised GCSE and A Level Chemsitry and Biology tutoring that’s supportive and engaging. My approach is built on creating a positive, relaxed environment where students feel confident to ask questions and explore new concepts at their own pace. I truly believe that building a student’s confidence is just as important for exam success as improving their academic skills, and I aim to make every lesson both enjoyable and rewarding.
I use a combination of clear explanations, real-life examples, and interactive problem-solving techniques to ensure students not only understand but also apply the concepts they’re learning. I break down complex topics into manageable steps and regularly use past exam papers and practice problems to help students prepare effectively for their GCSEs and A Levels. My goal is to help students develop critical thinking skills and learn systems and strategies they can apply to any problem they're presented with in the exam.
Each lesson typically lasts 1 hour, but I am happy to extend this by ten minutes at no extra charge to allow for a ten minute break in the middle if that is helpful, especially for neurodivergent students. Whether the student needs a quick review of a topic or an in-depth session to cover multiple areas, I tailor the lessons accordingly. I also make sure to leave time for feedback and questions at the end of each lesson to ensure full understanding.
My tutoring is suitable for students preparing for their GCSE or A Level Chemistry and Biology exams. Whether your child needs help with specific topics, is struggling to build confidence, or wants to get ahead, I’m here to support them at any level.
