About Marc

I graduated PreMed with a 3.94 GPA at McGill University, and high school with a French Baccalaureate specialized in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Along that, I took piano lessons at l'Ecole de Musique du Collège Notre-Dame de Jamhour during the ages of 7 to 16. I then concentrated on teaching myself improvisation techniques on classical and mainstream pieces. I know my topics, and love working with my students so I can help them achieve their goals. I believe my experience teaching tough topics to university students as well as tutoring my siblings in high school sets me apart and helps me understand each student's learning styles and habits. This way, I can better adapt my sessions to their specific needs.

As an Calculus II and General Chemistry tutor for McGill university, I believe teaching should be proactive, so I try to involve the student as much as I can during our sessions.
I believe my experience teaching tough topics to university students as well as tutoring my siblings in high school sets me apart and helps me understand each student's learning styles and habits, so I can better adapt my lectures to their needs.

A typical lesson starts with some warm-ups and technique focus, after which the student and I will dissect together a piece of their liking and level. I then present some applications for the student to do on their own, so we can find weak points and concentrate on them. Finally, I like to give some work for the student to attempt in their own time, specifically targeting their weak points and key ideas of the topics and technique we studied and developed together.

Music theory is a key component to any aspiring musician, so if the student wants we can concentrate on that also.
