About Szerdi
I have been a Classics Lecturer at the University of KwaZulu Natal for 10 years. I have taught in the disciplines of Latin, Ancient Greek, and Classical Civilisation with a focus on mythology, art history, comparative literature and gender.
My personal research includes gender roles and identity in ancient literature, and more recently on the Reception of epic poetry in South African literature.
I have supervised MA theses on Reception and Gender in Classics and have had been external examiner for Gender in Classical Art.
