About Sophia
I completed my Bachelor’s in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and worked with high-school tech clubs, coding camps, and robotics teams. With five years of teaching young coders, I’ve developed a friendly, welcoming style that helps even shy or hesitant students succeed. Parents appreciate my communication; students enjoy the creative atmosphere.

Coding can feel intimidating at first, so I teach it with a relaxed tone that helps teens learn without fear. I begin with simple logic—how computers think—before moving into Python with small, confidence-building programs. JavaScript introduces creativity, Java builds structured thinking, SQL helps with understanding data, and MATLAB lets students experience scientific problem-solving.
For students who enjoy creativity, I include video game programming where they design characters, movement, and interactions. Whenever an error appears, I explain it calmly and clearly so students understand exactly what went wrong.
My schedule is flexible, allowing coding lessons to fit around school, sports, or part-time jobs.
