About Matt
I am a recent graduate of the University of Edinburgh where I studied Cognitive Science, specialising in psycholinguistics. I wrote my dissertation in language sciences, and I am interested in the effects of different languages upon thought and the processes of reading. When I was 17 I ran my own sociolinguistic study of dialects in my home county of Northumberland, and undertook work experience at Newcastle University in the linguistics department under Dr. Lindsay Pennington.

I can teach English Language from ages 16-20, and am most comfortable working with students aiming for Highers/Advanced Highers/A-Levels.
My teaching method is a bottom-up method, working from the fundamental building blocks up to more complex theory. I enjoy talking through theories and concepts with my tutee in a conversational fashion.
After your first lesson, I will create a personalised teaching plan adapted to your best learning method. Teaching is centred around you as the learner, and your academic development is the primary focus in these lessons.
